Sugar Beet Seed Production
To enable sugar beet growers to realise the benefits of Strube research in the field, Strube UK provides them with superbly produced and processed seeds for sowing. For Strube, only the best sugar beet seed is good enough and only a small proportion of the sugar beet seed harvested in our seed production areas will finally meet our exacting quality requirements and be offered to sugar beet growers.
Nature & Strube in Partnership
Sugar beet seed production requires a sophisticated partnership between nature and the seed breeder. Seed quality is influenced by a host of natural variables – the seed growing area, soil properties and climatic factors. Even genotypes can differ considerably with respect to raw seed quality. To balance out these factors during sugar beet seed production, Strube have developed a range of special technologies for our seeds which ensures the final results are superb and meet the precise demands of today’s sugar beet farmers. Our current crop of sugar beet seed varieties – Haydn, Degas, and Gauguin with their BBRO/BSPB Recommended List attributes – are a testament to the continuing success of Strube’s approach.
